ROAD CONDITIONS – SKIING

On the way to the mountain, the roads weren’t too bad this time but the snow was definitely blowing across and drifting along the edges. The closer we got to the mountains we could see they were really getting “some weather!”… The roads became more snowpacked. Here there is still some asphalt showing through…..

a few turns in the road and pretty soon there is less asphalt showing through…
and eventually there is NO gravel (asphalt ended a few miles back – lol) showing through..
It’s a pretty view looking back down over the valley.
I don’t really mind driving in the weather as long as I don’t feel rushed. We were pretty early this time so there was only one car behind us and I didn’t feel like I was slowing them down too much.
Josh does NOT like looking out the window when all he can see out the side window is the edge of the mountain and you really can’t even see the edge of the road.
Our kids all wear helmets when they go skiing. We get them for a GREAT price through a program at the hospital.
Em took some pictures of the lifts.

I took my ski stuff and was just about tempted to give it a try this week, but decided I should wait to try it again AFTER our vacation (LOL). I wouldn’t want to ruin my scuba diving opportunity because I broke my leg or arm skiing. Here Em is coming down the hill… notice all of the snow. It snowed ALL DAY long and it was GORGEOUS!

I’m not exactly sure what she’s doing here (LOL).
We packed our lunch this time.. here Josh is hauling it back out to the car… ugh.. notice how DIRTY it is! I hope it warms up enough to wash it one of these days.
We’ll ski again in March….. we’ll see if I decide to try it this year or not. I’ve only skiied 2x in my life, both times last year with an instructor. I fell every time I got off the lift although I didn’t fall at all while skiing. I might be able to work up enough nerve to try it again! Stay tuned.

This room is such a mess I simply can’t deal with it any longer!  It’s not normally this disorganized, but a few months ago everything was removed from this room while I was away so I could be surprised with the flooring being finished!   YEA!  I’m SO EXCITED the …

Most people who enter our church’s car show probably spend the day before polishing and clean up their entries.  Not us!  Nope.  We don’t have a fancy car.  In fact, our rig isn’t even entirely painted.  So, there was no need for polishing and prettying it up!  No, indeed.  Tim …

POLISHING THE JEEP

Our church has an annual car show on Father’s Day which Tim and Josh decided to enter this year.  While most people are out polishing and cleaning their entries, Tim and the kids were out muddying up our entry! They went across the road to our hayfield where it’s still …
