When I went to get my haircut I had NO intention of getting it sytled any different than my normal style. I did consider that I might want some highlights, but previously, my hairdresser has stayed away from them because she always has to color ALL of my hair in order to cover the gray. I had a few minutes to think about what to do while waiting for her and I had a few phone calls to make… so here I am on the phone and I still haven’t had time to take the keys out of my hands yet either (LOL).

I’m smiling funny because I’m actually contemplating a short do! I haven’t gone short for quite awhile…. this is NOT something I considered before arriving at the hairdresser’s place.

She’s still trying to convince me that it will look really cute. Hopefully the back of my hair doesn’t always look as stringy as it does above… I didn’t spend ANY time fixing it today.First she started with the color and we decided to go several shades darker red than I normally do because she is also going to add some highlights today.
Here we’re discussing how short we should cut it. I reminded her to leave it longer than she thinks it should be because it always gets shorter when the curl kinks up (LOL). She ended up cutting it shorter 3x. Better safe than sorry though.

Next come the highlights.

So far so good. I think I’ll like this.. now to get home, add some makeup, and my glasses so I can see!

I love how the back is worked out to nice soft curls instead of the kinky curls I get underneath with the straighter hair on top when I fix it…

Here is the new doo… too bad the tree is right behind me (now those spiky things behind my head are NOT part of my hair) and my eyes are 1/2 closed… at least it gives you an idea of what the new length and color look like. Oh.. and no, my face is not really that long.. .something was weird with the camera setting.

It’s DEFINITELY short, but I’m really liking it. It’s a very nice change.
