LIGHTNING & MATER

Vacations - 2007

Nathan *loves* the CARS movie…. He can quote 1/2 the show, I’m sure. He runs around saying “FOCUS” and “I AM SPEED!” (LOL). So, imagine how excited he was when he was able to SEE Lightning and Mater! I think he may have even forgotten about Mickey Mouse for a little bit (LOL). Notice his cute little smile… it’s a silly smile and he was SO HAPPY… can you tell?

They were able to walk all around each of them and even TOUCH THEM! Nathan is SO EXCITED he just can’t stand to sit in his stroller any longer (LOL).
They both gave a tug on Mater’s hook.
Ligtning was revving his engine and I think all of the other little boys were revving their engines as well because it was QUITE NOISY at this viewing area.

As I mentioned in the earlier blog, this viewing happened to be right in the middle of our dinner reservation, but it was a buffet so the boys and I were able to eat… then run over to the view… run back… and then eat dessert (LOL). We made the reservation so that we could get passes into the Fantasmic Show without having to stand in a long line… instead we spent the time riding the rides a few more times before our Disney trip came to an end.

Oh, I love the pic of Nathan smiling SO brightly, head cocked and all!

That’s a riot that you were alternating between eating and watching here. Great lesson in time management, lol.

I love Cars! You are a good mom to make sure Nathan was able to make it to the viewing. What fun!

I have to ask – Why does Josh look so grumpy or vaguely bored in almost all of the pictures? Was he there against his will? Is Cars not one of his favorite movies? Was he starving and couldn’t find anything to eat at the buffet?

Curious!!

Kristine,
Think “ka CHOW” when you see Nathan’s head kinked to the side like that (LOL).

Alternating between eating and cars sightings was quite a riot… We literally did “run” from the restaurant to the viewing area… and then back again….

I sure didn’t want to miss the dessert you know (LOL) and I didn’t want the waitress to think we were done and had left (LOL).

Kathy,
Getting Nathan to the CARS viewing was the least I could do given his disappointment with not finding Mickey and my mommy guilt over him not getting to ride many rides!

The look you see on Josh’s face is actually his “camera pose” or “serious pose”…. it’s not that he wasn’t happy or enjoying himself… in these pictures, in particular, he really WAS enjoying himself… it just doesn’t translate to photos very well. He’s very quiet, man of few words, etc. So, the pictures you see on the blog that are of him with full out grins are totally candid shots that I’m able to catch of him… any “posed” shots usually come out with what we call a fake smile…..that makes him look grumpy or unhappy when he’s really not.

Oh, I gotcha! I was wondering why he looked so serious. I thought maybe this was more of Nathan’s “thing” and not his. Thanks for the explanation. Glad to know he was enjoying himself as well.

Did Nathan come away from the trip feeling disappointed, do you think? It looked like it was such a fun trip, I never would have known that he was having a less than wonderful time. Why wasn’t he able to go on some of the rides? Age, height, timing?? Interesting.

It’s hard to plan a trip where everyone has an equal amount of fun and entertainment. I think you do an amazing job in coordinating and planning your family vacations. It’s a LOT of work!

LUGGAGE – DAY 62 of PROJECT 365

WHEW! This is definitely the last of our vacation pictures! The night before you arrive back in port, you leave all of your luggage out in the hallway. During the night the porters come through and deliver it *here* (LOL) and you have to dig through the piles of luggage …
