****BLIZZARD WARNING****

Weather

I’m interrupting my vacation picture flow here to jump back into REAL time for a few days because we are under a severe winter weather advisory including a BLIZZARD warning. They’ve been talking about this storm for 2 days now. Surrounding areas 2-3 hours away already have roads closed and a foot of snow. One report I read is predicting 9-10 inches tonight and possibly just as much tomorrow with wind gusts up to 45 mph. They really don’t know what this storm is going to do, but they have said that we haven’t seen a system like this in our area since 1950 something when there was about 40 inches of snow! WHOO YOO! We’re hoping for a REAL WINTER STORM one of these days.. of course, one that doesn’t cause the power to go out, nor close the roads, nor cause any other inconveniences (LOL). We would just like the snow without the problems. At 9:00 a.m. we barely had a little rain and some puddles….

I’ve been photographing the weather all day so I can have a record of how this storm progresses.. y’all know that I’m into weather reporting from the books I’ve read lately, right? Here are some pictures from before noon this morning. If you look in the background of the picture you can see that it’s already snowing in the hills, but hasn’t quite started down here yet as of 11:00 a.m. After lunch it started to snow, but it wasn’t cold enough to stick so it melted as soon as it hit the ground. I’ll update later this afternoon o show you how the storm has progressed. Here are the around-noon pictures.

SUPER MOON

The Super Moon was shining so bright throughout the night last night. This morning the western sky was a beautiful rainbow of colors as the moon was disappearing over the horizon.

LET IT SNOW

Being in the road building business, one thing we don’t have to worry about is being snowed in. As long as the weather isn’t so cold that we can’t start the equipment, you’ll find our men out and about plowing everyone’s driveways up and down our road and a few …

EARLY MORNING VIEW

I love that the days are getting longer!   There was a beautiful view of the moon early this morning which reminded me of this song by Steven Curtis Chapman.   …”Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee…   Holy. Holy, holy…”
