Several of my blogging and Project 365 friends have been talking about mud season. You probably think this photo should show some mud then if I’m going to title it MUD SEASON, right? Well… see those blue things on Nathan’s shoes? Trust me. There is MUD under those things! The boys wear these shoe covers when they are only going to be in the house for a few minutes and don’t have time to take off their shoes (LOL)!

What a GREAT idea! How did you come up with that? Where do you buy the shoe covers? We’re living in the city these days but dh wants to move back to our property next year. No such thing as paved sidewalks out in the country. Those shoe covers would be a HUGE help in keeping floors clean. Was it difficult training the children to keep them on?

Kathy,
My mom picked up the shoe covers for us. I think she got them at Home Depot or Lowe’s or one of those type stores. Whenever the carpet cleaning man comes he always leaves me a dozen or so of them as well.

They boys enjoy wearing them so it’s not hard to get them to put them on. If they don’t they have to clean the floor. Right now we’re between sandals, rainboots, and tennis shoes… once sandals are the main footwear they won’t need these covers as much because it doesn’t take “time” to take sandals off and put them back on (LOL)…

They look like surgical shoe covers! What a great idea. Do they really keep the wet mud off the floor? Hmm, I’m going to have to look for some of those.

Debbie,

If your shoes are REALLY wet the moisture would soak through these, but it keeps the little sticky leaves from getting onto the carpet as well as pieces of mud, grass, etc. They really work well, but I’m not sure they would help REALLY MUDDY or WET shoes.

Those shoe covers are certainly the best idea I’ve seen in awhile. We too must contend with mud season…then come bug season, yuck!

Lots of fun new pictures on your blog!

SUPER MOON

The Super Moon was shining so bright throughout the night last night. This morning the western sky was a beautiful rainbow of colors as the moon was disappearing over the horizon.

LITTLE BITES OF HAPPINESS

Nathan’s friend, Noah, came over to hang out today and enjoy one last day of Christmas break before school resumes for both of them tomorrow. On the way home from picking him up at “the bridge,” I asked if the boys wanted some oatmeal for breakfast, but no. They wanted …

LET IT SNOW

Being in the road building business, one thing we don’t have to worry about is being snowed in. As long as the weather isn’t so cold that we can’t start the equipment, you’ll find our men out and about plowing everyone’s driveways up and down our road and a few …
