Box of our children’s artwork which we’ve accumulated over several years. Any ideas what I should do with this box? These things are TOO cute to toss out, but I don’t have any more room to store them on the bookshelves or on their desks.

I’m slowly convincing my kids to part with their “treasures” by taking digital pictures of them to remember them by. Sometimes it’s not the actual PIECE they want to hold onto, but rather the memory of the events surrounding that piece. Maybe it was made at camp, or at an art class, and looking at the piece reminds them of those experiences. But the piece itself just collects dust and takes up space. Of course, there are some that are just too precious to part with, and those will stay for a long time (or at leat until my kids get their OWN apartments and they can have it all back!) 🙂

My suggestion would be to take digital pictures of the items and make a ART Collection Scrapbook and journal on each page telling the details of this specific piece of art.
Welcome to Photo Hunters! Mine are up…visit if you can. Have a GREAT weekend!

Cynthia- this is a wonderful shot. I love the vibrancy of the colors. Excellent job. Nice framing and composition.

So nice to see you blogging again!

I like the Photo Hunt thing!

I’m with everyone else, take pictures of the work and then toss it! (And I thought I was going to be such a big help, lol!)

Neat Photo! It is an art in itself. My children have moved out and their art with them. Welcome to the Photo Hunt, we have a lot of fun. So nice to meet you.
Samantha, Tigger and Mom

I love the photo! I agree with the others. Take pictures, make a lovely scrapbook layout and you’ll have them forever without taking up so much room! I’m late getting mine up this week!
(I have a business with Heritage Makers making digital books with your photos and it would be wonderful to make one book just of artwork photos! Or one for each child! 😉 )

How about you get a rubbermaid tote for each child, put their things in their tote, and store it in a closet, basement or attic?

I never know what to do with their things. If they no longer want it, or it isn’t important to them, I often take a picture and toss it. I’m exuberant about decluttering at times!

NATHAN

DOUBLE OVEN

Cleaning the oven doors has been on my to-do list for quite some time!  Over the weekend, I searched Pinterest and other kitchen cleaning sites to try to find the best way to clean the film off from the inside of the glass. Ordinarily, this film would probably disappear during …

INDOOR BASKETBALL

These boys love to play basketball.  For quite some time, they’ve been talking about how they need another hoop so they can have a full court!  The one you can’t see is mounted above the entryway into this room directly opposite this standing hoop.   They talked about putting up …
