MY SCRAPBOOKING MESS

Ok… Now I’m totally embarassed. I feel like I should at LEAST try to explain the above picture. At Christmas time all of the extra stuff we didn’t know what to do with during the holidays was tossed into this room. Then, we cleaned out and reorganized several closets this spring and all of those things that we didn’t know what to do with ended up in here. It’s a total disaster. I’m not sure it’s EVER been this bad before. Sadly, it’s not even “scrapbooking” stuff that’s the problem. The problem is OTHER stuff that has been piled into my scrapbooking room. If I could ever reclaim this room then I think I could make some progress on my albums.

So, I’m going to commit to working on this room for at least an hour a day until it’s clean. I’m going to start with one section at a time hoping that possibly by the end of the week I *might* be able to start on a few scrapbooking pages.

You might wonder WHERE in the world anyone would have scrapbooked if they had come over on a Monday in June. We would have worked in the library which is right next to my scrapbooking room!

Ok. Now that my mess is out in the open I KNOW I’ll have to do something about it or SOMEONE is bound to chew me out, right? In a nice, loving, motivating, and encouraging way, PLEASE! If you’re a real life friend who feels sorry for me (especially one named LISA) you may just want to come over and help or at least call and make sure I find my way out of this room! Lisa loves to organize anything related to scrapbooking. I’m indebted to her for coming over last year to organize my scrapbooking room shelves and drawers! *THEY* are, thankfully, still nicely organized! However, my dh said I should be ashamed of myself for letting this room get so out of hand when Lisa spent so much time organizing my scrapbooking materials for me! So, if I can’t get it organized for *me*… I’ll get it organized for LISA!

Anyone else care to share any scrapbooking things they need to organize? Remember it can be *anything* related to scrapbooking…..even colored pencils or pens that have gotten out of hand. No mess is too big or too small to be considered for the contest. Again, the goal is to motivate and encourage each other to spend any amount of time we can on our projects.

Cynthia,

It’s interesting to realise that no matter how much space one has, it’s still possible to be disorganised! I tend to blame everything on having a tiny house!

My stuff is in one box and one small music cabinet. I really do need to organise it, figure out what I need to buy in order to get started again, so this is a very timely challenge for me. Not sure if I’ll be able to do it this week though.

Cynthia, just dream about how delightful it will be to have it straightened out. You could just pop in there after breakfast one day with a cup of coffee and do one page, because it’d be all set out so beautifully!

I can’t tell you how much I wish I could come and help you organise and then sit down to crop and chat!

How about it you do one thing each day of the challenge? Like 1st day, throw unneeded stuff away, 2nd day, remove things that don’t belong in that room etc?

Good Luck!

Dorothy,
You’re absolutely right! It doesn’t matter how much room one has…. it will eventually all fill up… sigh…. Until a few years ago I kept thinking I wanted a bigger house. Now I realize I really don’t want or need a bigger house. I need less STUFF to take care of!

I wish you could come over for a visit, too! That would be SO MUCH FUN!

Good ideas for tackling the project. I think I’m going to start with the floor.. it’ll be hard to do anything in there until I can see the floor, right? I still have to keep up the outdoor work on my flower beds nad maintain other parts of the house that have recently been reorganized so I set my Scrapbook Room challenge as 1 Hour a DAY! I think I should be able to find that much time… I would HOPE so anyway!

Cynthia, here I thought you were just about perfect, but your sb room looks like any number of rooms in my house! :-p

Thanks for being “real” with us. Can’t wait to see it after you are done and I know you will get it done.

What happens if you win your own first challenge. Should we all come over and help you keep it that way? VBG. I’ll work on a post for this after I’m more awake. I’m not sure of the status of my scrapbooking stuff but it may be happy is I just visit it. I can’t remember how long it’s been since I’ve scrapbooked. AlthoughI must admit we do use many of the supplies in homeschooling.

Debbie,
Just about perfect, NOT (LOL)! I have (true to my normal form) torn into a closet, cupboard, or drawer in just about every room in the house. Right now I don’t think there is a single clean room except the living room and kitchen. The bathroom is in the process of being remodeled so it’s completely torn apart, I’m working on my scrapbooking room and I’m still trying to finish up the library from the end of school. My problem is that I get easily sidetracked.. one thing leads to another and pretty soon I have a big mess everywhere…. I’m to the putting back phase in several rooms though so that’s GOOD.. it means I really am making PROGRESS!

Well, can you find what you are looking for? I do okay with organized chaos. Robert has been a little bored lately and reorganized MY junk drawer. Very nice, but I don’t WANT my pens rubber banded together. I LIKE everything in the odd piles, things stuffed waaaay in the back of the drawer. I told him to go work on his OWN things, lol!

This room is such a mess I simply can’t deal with it any longer!  It’s not normally this disorganized, but a few months ago everything was removed from this room while I was away so I could be surprised with the flooring being finished!   YEA!  I’m SO EXCITED the …

Most people who enter our church’s car show probably spend the day before polishing and clean up their entries.  Not us!  Nope.  We don’t have a fancy car.  In fact, our rig isn’t even entirely painted.  So, there was no need for polishing and prettying it up!  No, indeed.  Tim …

POLISHING THE JEEP

Our church has an annual car show on Father’s Day which Tim and Josh decided to enter this year.  While most people are out polishing and cleaning their entries, Tim and the kids were out muddying up our entry! They went across the road to our hayfield where it’s still …
