::snort:: I picked this book up at an RV PARK book swap. It looked intersting to me….I need to add it to my list.
This was not originally on my list for the Summer Reading Challenge. However, I decided to read the books that have been sitting here 1/2 read in what seems like forever. So, I’ve added it to my list just now and marked it off! That’s my kind of list… being able to check something off the minute you add it to the list (LOL)! This is John Grisham’s first nonfiction book. He is noted as saying he became interested in this story after seeing it on one of the national evening news shows. While the book is not a favorite of mine and I wouldn’t read it a second time, it IS a good book and I would recommend you read it if for no other reason than to be aware that the phrase “innocent until proven guilty” isn’t always the way things work.We are introduced to the main character, Ron Williamson, as a youngster who loves to play baseball and we follow him as he tries to make his dream of becoming a big-league player a reality. The story takes you through his life – being accused of murder, living on death row, and being acquitted. There are several other characters whose stories and lives are also told. It’s SAD to think that these types of wrongful charges really happen!!
