Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at PhotobucketThis is the mess we arrived home to after the Sunday evening graduation party. Fortunately, we didn’t have any serious damage. A large tree branch fell over onto the powerline that goes from the road to our house. The weight of it knocked this power pole over. It snapped off right at the base.

I thought for sure we would probably be without power. We were SO GLAD to walk in the house and see we still had power. The pole broke, but the line wasn’t snapped. PTL since I still had much to do to get ready for the actual graduation ceremony the next day.Others didn’t fare as well as we did. Neighbors down the road (3 or 4 of them) had trees knocked over on top of their homes. And, my parent’s garage blew over. I’ll post some pictures of it one day.

ME TOO because I still had to finish up a few things for the graduation ceremony the next day. I should also have mentioned that the next day when they came to fix the pole I was trying to save things to my memory stick, iron my dress, fix my hair, and get out the door on time. I told them they simply could NOT turn off our power until I was ready to leave. They patiently waited 30 minutes while I finished everything up.. worst 30 minutes I’ve had in a VERY LONG time because I don’t like anyone having to wait for me.. and then we got ready to leave and they had to move their trucks out of our driveway so we could head to the graduation.. it was quite stressful to say the least!

Thank God it didn’t hit your house . . .and that is great that your power wasn’t effected. We lost power during the storm a few days ago . . .thankfully it only lasted a few hours before we got the power back.

That’s scary how close everything fell right to your house.

Your parents’ garage BLEW over?? Wow. PTL that no one was hurt.

SUPER MOON

The Super Moon was shining so bright throughout the night last night. This morning the western sky was a beautiful rainbow of colors as the moon was disappearing over the horizon.

LET IT SNOW

Being in the road building business, one thing we don’t have to worry about is being snowed in. As long as the weather isn’t so cold that we can’t start the equipment, you’ll find our men out and about plowing everyone’s driveways up and down our road and a few …

EARLY MORNING VIEW

I love that the days are getting longer!   There was a beautiful view of the moon early this morning which reminded me of this song by Steven Curtis Chapman.   …”Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee…   Holy. Holy, holy…”
