BLOG AWARD

Can you all tell I’m trying to catch up on a few old blog entries tonight? I received another blog award awhile ago (back in August to be exact – lol). Here is what Lisa of The Berry Patch said about my blog:

Cynthia at Life is Good gets my next award. She’s another one of my cyber-friends. She reads all my posts at my blog & always leaves a comment. She’s someone I’d love to meet someday IRL. So, Cynthia, please make a road trip east some time soon, okay?

And here is the lovely award she gave to me. Isn’t it PRETTY! I don’t know who designed it, but I LOVE it!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket“This award is for those bloggers who are nice people, good blog friends, and those who inspire good feelings and inspiration. Also, for those who are a positive influence on our blogging world. Once you’ve been awarded please pass it on to seven others who you feel are deserving of this award. “

Lisa, thanks much for giving me this award. I’m DEFINITELY planning a trip back east!! Debbie and Karen have already said I can stay with each of them! Hopefully we can meet somewhere the next time I’m out there (hopefully sometime next year). I’m assuming that’ll work out since you and Debbie are IRL friends!

Again, I have a zillion people I would like to pass this award on to, but the rules (which I don’t normally follow, but don’t intentionally *not* follow) say seven so here goes:

Amy – is a very inspirational writer and I love reading the posts that she writes for “Tuesdays in other words” as well as her reflections on living with her grandma, life as a single homeschooling parent although she has recently gotten married, and other subjects! She’s the one who gave me the Encouraging Blogger award awhile back and I have to say SHE is an encouraging blogger! I also love how she’s doing her OWN blog makeover! YOU GO GIRL!

Jen – (Ancora Imparo) is a GREAT influence on my blogging because of her scrapbooking! I’ve never met Jen IRL, but I’ve talked to her on the phone! She’s a very kind and giving person! I mentioned in the last blog award entry that she’s working on a photo album for me! When she emailed and then called to say she had it on her heart to help me get caught up I was totally overwhelmed with her kindness and generosity toward me! THANKS SO MUCH, Jen and I can hardly wait to see it!

Lisa – (Lisa’s Homeschool Circus) is a good blog friend whom I’ve also met IRL! She and her family were SO KIND to let me and my family (including my brother and parents) stay with them for a few days when we were vacationing in FL back when they lived in Miami! We were very touched by their hospitality toward us – complete strangers they had never met except over the internet!! Thanks for taking the time to blog and read my blog even in the midst of chaotic days and for offering great blog challenges!

Jodi – (Learning All The Time) and her family were SO KIND to send one of their stuffed animals to our home on an animal exchange visit. Unfortunately, I’ve been VERY SLOW posting anything from the Rambling Raccoon, but I’m SO close to getting caught up to the point that I can let my mind wander enough to reatively write like a raccoon (LOL). It won’t be long, Jodi & kids! Thanks again for your patience and for trusting Sam to us! Jodi’s blog is also an encouraging reminder to put some FUN into our school. We, her blogging and loop friends, call her the FUN SCHOOLER!

Emily – (Emily’s 5 Blessings) Emily is another great blogging friend and inspiration whom I’ve also met IRL! Emily is the type friend who sends me emails about things she thinks I might be interested in (special deals on mineral makeup) or find helpful (info for my itchy rash) and she picks up the phone and CALLS me when she’s worried about me or just wants to let me know that she’s thinking of me! I SO appreciate her servant’s heart. You can tell by her blog that she’s a great friend to those near her and I’m here to say she’s a great friend to me as well and I live clear across the country! Thanks Emily for everything Emily. It was especially sweet to get a phone call from you last week!

Robin – (LifeofRileys) is a new blogging friend. While I don’t know her very well yet, I can tell from her blog that she is someone I would LOVE to have as my next door neighbor and homeschooling friend. I love how they go to help with her parent’s motel up in the mountains (or it seems like it’s in the mountains anyway)! I enjoy visiting her blog and seeing all of the cool field trips they go on as well as all of the FUN projects they do for school. Thanks for taking the time to start a blog, Robin. I’ve enjoyed getting to know you these past few months!

Laura (HoneypotRambles) – is one of my favorite inspirational bloggers! She recently started blogging about every day life struggles and triumps! I LOVE her new blog! It has quickly become one of my favorites. I’m inspired by her passion to learn new things. She stuck with Project 365 (which I finally had to give up… sigh…) and posts amazing pictures! She has also created her own website! She and her family are active in their church and I enjoy seeing all of the activities they do with their church family. I love how she has a nice mix of family and church blog entries as well as devotional, spiritual, inspirational entries. I’ve also been priviledged to meet them IRL when they stopped by our house for dinner while vacationing out this direction!

Thanks again, Lisa for giving me this lovely award! And, as I said before, I have lots of other people I would like to recommend for this blog award. Many of them have already received it and hopefully some of the others will receive it from one of the ones I listed above since most of us do travel in many of the same blogosphere circles!

Laura,
You’re welcome! I LOVE reading your blog and looking at the pictures on your P365 blog although I don’t get to them very often anymore. I need to put them in my RSS feed so I remember.

Lisa,

You’re welcome! I appreciate any amount of time you spend blogging or leaving comments on my blog because I know how little time one has with little ones toddling around!

Cindy

Thank you! I’m sure Sammy is having a blast just seeing what your area is like. The kids are patient and we just enjoy hearing about the animals when someone has a chance to post or email or mail them back. There is no rush, a low stress project!

You’re such a faithful blog commenter and that certainly counts! I seem to catch blog reading time better on the weekends these days but hope to read and comment more faithfully one of these days.

Jodi,
You’re welcome and thanks for being so patient! I have a few posts dreaming up in my brain.. now to find the time to type them (LOL)!

I have more time to comment on and read other people’s blogs than I do to work on my own blog because working on my own requires so much time and thinking (LOL)!

FYI

The chinese dragon picture posted out of order so if you happened to see it the other day, you may want to look below it now because there are 4 or 5 new posts one of which has a couple funny “tater” stories.

READER PREFERENCE?

For those who haven’t noticed yet, I’m participating in Project 365 again this year which means (hopefully) I’ll be posting a photo a day along with my occasional book reviews, lengthier blog entries about what we’re up to, etc.    Some of you read my blog to see the photo which …
