Just came to try to reach you about Healthy Foods but these photos look awesome. I’ll have to come back and read later in the day!
Your co-op has lots of fun things to do. We may have to borrow this one. I love reading homeschool blogs.

One of our very creative Upper Grammar teachers had Josh’s class do a Sandwich Book report on the book Little Lord Fauntleroy. I think the kids had a GREAT time with this project. I know Josh put more time and energy into this project than he normally does with his book reports. The expression on his face does *not* indicate he didn’t like the project. He was trying to figure out how to get round holes in the middle of his paper to make swiss cheese (LOL).
Having a mom with lots of scrapbooking supplies certainly came in handy for this project! He used one of my Creative Memories round hole punchers.
and my paper cutter
and my glue… and my paper…. and the list goes on (LOL).
If you google sandwich books you’ll fine a few websites with instructions. Scholastic has some great ideas as does this website: 25 BOOK REPORT IDEAS I’m not sure which website Josh’s teacher used, but I do know that she adapted it to fit the needs of this class and this book and she gave me permission to post her instructions here and I’ve included a picture of each of Josh’s book parts that goes with each instruction.
Here are instructions for creating your Little Lord Fauntleroy sandwich book project.
First, be creative. Think of the choices one has for toppings at a Subway Sandwich Shop. There are bell peppers, olives, spinach, banana peppers, lettuce, different types of meats and cheeses, as well as Ranch and other dressings. Some people like different kinds of bread and some have black pepper sprinkled on the top before closing up the sandwich. Please feel free to include as many of these “toppings†as you would like. The following is just to get you started. Your interpretation and artistic talent will make your project wonderful. Second, have fun!
1. Write the book title, author, and your name on the BREAD top.
2. Write a summary of the book on the LETTUCE.
3. Describe or draw the setting(s) on the TOMATO.
4. Write about a part of the book that made you happy on the CHEESE.
5. Describe a part of the book that you thought was sweet or sad on the
ONION.
6. Write what you thought of the book on the LUNCH MEAT.
7. Tell what you liked or didn’t like about the author’s style on the BREAD bottom.
8. Last put you sandwich together. Organize it into a presentable project to share with us on November 5th.
Josh’s teacher took time to read each of the kids’ books and give them written feedback! It’s so nice to have other co-op moms pouring into each other’s kids! I really appreciate all of the time each mom/teacher spends on co-op projects!
I tried to get up to his class to take a picture of all of the books, but I missed the opportunity. I asked a couple of moms to send me pictures of their kid’s books. So, here are a few more. Isn’t it fun to see how different each project looks! What creativity these kids have!

If you decide to do a Sandwich Book report in your homeschool, be sure to send me a note so I can stop by your blog and take a peek!
