FUN TO SEE TIM on stage…
Ok.. I know that summer is LONG gone, but I’m not ready for this year to be over. I somehow missed blogging July and August! Hopefully I will get these months blogged sometime before the end of this year (LOL).
Every summer our church puts on a Celebrate Freedom festival at a local park.
There is food – ice cream, sno cones, cotton candy, hamburgers, etc. Games – lots of them. There’s something to entertain everyone…. inflatibles and more… This is a family friendly event for the entire community.

Of course, there’s music as well. Several bands play throughout the entire day. Tim has played the last several years with several other guys from our worship team. He’s the one playing the bass – in the white shirt. Our friend, Kris, is playing lead guitar.
Here’s our worship leader. The drummer is behind him. Next year I’ll have to be sure to move around and get some better pictures of everyone.

Lots of people sit around enjoying the music of their favorite bands! This band is, of course, our family’s favorite! Amanda and Nathan are sitting right up front! Nathan keeps saying he wants to be in a band when he grows up. When I ask if he’s going to play the keyboard, bass, or drums, he says “Nope. I’m going to be the one UP FRONT singing and playing the guitar!!”
Here Nathan is talking to Amanda’s friend, Libby. I’m sure he’s discussing some part of the music with her. He likes to talk about all the parts of the songs and what each instrument is doing, etc.

Then the kids wanted to move over to the waterslides. It took some coaxing to get Sami down the first time.

We’re sure glad Sami and her parents could meet us here! It’s so much fun to have a friend to hang out with at the park.
After the sun goes down, our church finishes the day off with a fire works show! It was AWESOME! Nathan doesn’t like the loud noises though. He watched them for a few minutes and then covered up his ears, snuggled up in a blanket and fell asleep.
We had a GREAT day enjoying life with friends, family, and church. Amanda was sitting in a different area with some of her friends so I didn’t know until a few hours later that while we were enjoying the spectacular fireworks show, she and her friends were rallying around one of their friends who was in the emergency room. See next post.
