Josh decided to write his free journal for co-op this week as if he were a news reporter. Here is his report from this weekend’s football game (LOL)! GOOD JOB, Josh! Nice embellishments (LOL).
NEWS REPORT FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
By Josh Broadbent
10-4-08On Saturday, October 4, 2008 Josh Broadbent, player number ninety-six, scored two touch downs in addition to four tackles.
Josh scored his first touch down of this game on a Thirty Wedge play. While playing the position of 3-Back, he received a snap and ran behind the offensive line for a six yard touch down run dragging twelve guys behind him all the way. The crowd exploded with roars chanting, “GO JOSH“!
Number 96’s second touch down was scored on a Thirty-Five Trap play from the two-yard line after he received the snap and leaped over the line of scrimmage for the touch down.
One of the two unassisted tackles came after Josh’s dad, who was part of the chain gang, leaned over and told the defensive coach to tell Josh to get in there and hit someone. The defensive coach bellowed at the top of his humongous lungs, “Josh get in there and hit someone.†After the snap, Josh (#96) blitzed in there and wailed on the opposing team’s quarter back for an unassisted tackle with no gain.
The second unassisted tackle was a blitz where Josh sacked the opposing team’s quarter back for a negative three yards. The crowd screamed and hollered, “GO NINETY SIX.â€
It is the unbiased and humble opinion of this news reporter, who barely makes enough to pay the bills on this salary, that #96, Josh Broadbent, could be in the pro’s next year, if his mommy will let him.

It sounds like an exciting match, even though I didn’t understand a word of it. (No American Football experience here, I’m afraid!)
Well, I definitely know where Josh gets his sense of humor, lol! GREAT story, Josh–and I definitely think you should get a raise!
Dorothy,
Don’t worry. I didn’t understand a bit of it either (LOL).
Kristine,
I’ll tell him that you think he should get a raise!
What a hoot! I know nothing about football except what a piccolo player does during the half-time show. As far as I can tell, though–good writing, Josh!
Good use of adjectives and quality verbs.
