The weather around here can change in the matter of just a few hours… and in a few days or a week one can barely tell (or remember) that there was a major snowstorm the previous weekend (LOL). Here are pictures from our first snowstorm the weekend before last. The boys went out to move snow. I guess that’s what you do when you can’t move dirt (LOL).
Nathan manned the shovel scooping all the snow from the sidewalks while Josh hooked up the plow to the 4-wheeler and moved all the snow in the driveway.
Poor little guy couldn’t find any winter gloves. They’re still packed away since we weren’t quite ready for winter weather just yet. He had to wear my gardening gloves (LOL). At least their Carharts were close by.
By this past weekend, the snow was completely gone and the ground was dried out enough to play football. We weren’t sure if Josh’s team would make it the playoffs without the benefit of another win, which they’d hoped to score the weekend the games were all cancelled. They won their game this past Saturday which tied them with another team for who would get to go to the playoffs. That team lost their game in triple OT so Josh’s team is going to the playoffs! YEA!
That extends the football season for another week or two depending on how the games go. So, now he’ll have practice again this week and another night game on Thursday night. YEA. He really enjoys playing under the stadium lights. If they win their Thursday night game then they play again on Saturday. The “bowl” games for the teams who make it will all be held the following Saturday (Nov 1st). Basketball starts October 31st. No rest for the weary parents (LOL)… unless they lose on TH night or this coming Sat in which case we would have 4 days without any sports, but of course we hope they win. Who needs 4 days without sports anyway?
Every time I see a post about Josh I think of what a hard worker he is. He seems to do quite a bit around the house for you & big stuff. Hmmm, maybe I should have my oldest son read some of these posts to see how easy he really does have it. 😉 You are raising a great kid there, Cynthia!

Snow??? It’s way too soon! It thought about snowing here today and felt like it was but it stayed just high enough for it to be rain.

Your turn is coming with the snow! This was probably our one big storm for the year. We don’t normally get that much snow at one time especially not in the fall like this. Usually we get a heavy wet snow in the spring.
Here I am thrilled that Fall is coming and you are in the midst of winter. I do LOVE the warm days here – but I miss the CHANGE of seasons. It’s been 44* in the a.m. and 80* in the afternoon….it actually was 29* yesterday.
