I think the effects are great! I love your photos – they always look very nice. I can’t wait to get a better digtal camera some day – sooner than later I hope! 😉
LOL! I didn’t really know what to title this entry. No, I don’t really do photo shoots. I just take my camera almost everywhere and take pictures of unsuspecting friends/family. Last night after the choir sang for the program, they headed over to the church’s atrium to sing there for awhile. Since that was a more casual setting I was able to walk around and take some pictures of random people (LOL).
Above, one of the brothers of a choir member was also taking some pictures. I’ve been wanting to try taking some fun Christmas shots that I’ve read about so I decided to experiment last night. He was much too close to the tree for the effect I was trying to achieve.
Josh…. always willing to help out his mom whenever she asks stood right where I asked him to and even gave a little bit of a smile. The above picture still wasn’t quite the look I wanted from the lights so I had him move even further away from the tree for the next shot which is what I was trying to get although he is a little too dark, imo.
I decided to give it a try with Nathan and the lights that were lower on the tree.
I wore out my welcome with the boys and had to call in the grandparents for some more experimenting. I tried several shots, but most of them their heads were too far apart and the lights behind became too distracting. This one looks good for what I was wanting to do with the lights behind, but still their faces are a little too dark.
Then… my brother agreed to let me take his picture…. It looks nice and I like him off to the side, but I’m clearly doing something wrong since the faces are all underexposed.
He was pretty patient to let me shoot a 1/2 dozen shots, but finally he was done as well. Josh wanted to know how come Uncle Troy can tell me no, but he can’t (LOL)!
Many thanks to everyone who let me experiment on them!
