Nathan decided to try skiing again this year mostly because the resort has replaced the old style tow rope with the new Magic Carpet shown above. From what I hear, it’s WONDERFUL! Perhaps I should even give skiing another try!

Our friend Stacie helped Nathan for an hour or so before his first lesson. For those who read the blog fairly regularly, I should point out that this is the same Stacie who was such an inspiration to Amanda on the long bike ride last fall. You won’t recognize her all bundled up here though so I thought I should point that out. She’s been such a blessing to our family! Thanks, Stacie! Or.. should I thank you? Nathan reported that Stacie taught him how to SKI FAST by letting him ski right between her legs with her arms wrapped around him! We didn’t catch a picture of that though.
Emily doesn’t always feel that she’s as in control as she should be when she’s skiing with her friends since they all like to ski faster than she does. So, Stacie took her out for a run as well. Here is Em with one of her friends.

After lunch, Emily and one of our other friends took Nathan out for a little bit before his next lesson. Above.. .Emily & Nathan.
Here is Nathan skiing with his friend, Sami who you’ve also seen here on the blog before. Her mom and dad took Nathan out with them for awhile! Thanks guys! I’m so glad they were able to take him on the lift for the first time!
Here is Nathan coming in at the end of the day. I should mention that we got a WHOPPER of a deal on his snow suit. $15 for the coat and ski pants! YEA! Sometimes it pays to procrastinate since we didn’t even get around to purchasing a snow suit for him until a few days before he skiied the first time.
Below, he’s practicing his pizza stance! Looks like pretty good form to me but what do I know (LOL)!

After one day of skiing, Nathan reports that he doesn’t need any more lessons and that he will just “ski around” next time! YEA RIGHT! I think NOT!
