Spring Where You Are

Lisa at the Berry Patch is having a Spring Where You Are photo challenge. I think she should have had a Spring Where ARE You challenge because I’m not certain spring will ever arrive this year. I think we’ve had more moisture here so far this “spring” than we had most of the entire winter.
Here are a few pictures of spring in our neck of the woods. First, a little rain in the morning, but if you look way back in the background you can see that there are low clouds and the foothills are white. One step outside and you can just FEEL that it’s going to snow AGAIN!

Then, a half hour later it’s no longer raining and you can see a few flakes coming down.

And then there are lots of GINORMOUS snowflakes coming down. The ground is almost completely white and Josh comes hurrying home from the pit in the go-cart!PhotobucketI didn’t get around to the other side of the house to take a picture of the tulips, but anything that has ventured to poke up out of the ground is most likely not going to survive this spring weather because it’ll freeze after being covered in snow today or this past weekend or the weekend before last. And, I think we’re supposed to get more snow later this week that will take care of anything else that tries to come up this week. (LOL).Photobucket

Spring here means lots of heavy wet snow and the beginning of MUD season!

Oh, I just want to cry at the thought of all the lovely new buds and flowers freezing. That is happening here, too. We had a week or so of lovely, unseasonably warm weather (70’s) and everything started to bloom. Now we are back to highs in the 30’s/40’s and lows of 25. Ugh. A couple years ago we lost a beautiful redbud tree in weather like this!

Here’s hoping we all don’t lose everything this spring!

SUPER MOON

The Super Moon was shining so bright throughout the night last night. This morning the western sky was a beautiful rainbow of colors as the moon was disappearing over the horizon.

LET IT SNOW

Being in the road building business, one thing we don’t have to worry about is being snowed in. As long as the weather isn’t so cold that we can’t start the equipment, you’ll find our men out and about plowing everyone’s driveways up and down our road and a few …

EARLY MORNING VIEW

I love that the days are getting longer!   There was a beautiful view of the moon early this morning which reminded me of this song by Steven Curtis Chapman.   …”Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee…   Holy. Holy, holy…”
