Spring flowers have a tough life in our part of the country. It’s a rare year when things like tulips have the opportunity to bloom. You can see by the bud on the tulip above that it was probably within a couple of days of opening up. However, spring weather sprung a hard frost on us last night and a winter weather storm left a couple of inches of snow over night.
We’re under a winter storm warning advisory through noon today. The snow that fell last night will most likely all be melted by noon, but it sounds like we have more headed our way.
Just the other day I was outside looking around the flower bed hoping to see signs of the two new bleeding hearts I planted last year. YEA! I was so excited to see they were both looking pretty good. I hope last night’s frost and snow doesn’t do them in.

I typically don’t get too excited to do much in our flower beds until about June. Now you know why (LOL)! The longer I let the fall leaves stay around the longer the new little plants have a lit bit of protection from our spring weather.

I know what you mean. We can’t plant much for another month or so. No snow yesterday, but COLD rain and it was 80 degrees in the beginning of the week.

🙂 I laughed out loud when I saw your photos. I so understand! 🙂 And then my favorite rose got broken when a shingle fell on it (while the roofers were here). We have a nasty habit of planting ‘annual’ perennials around here!

SUPER MOON

The Super Moon was shining so bright throughout the night last night. This morning the western sky was a beautiful rainbow of colors as the moon was disappearing over the horizon.

LET IT SNOW

Being in the road building business, one thing we don’t have to worry about is being snowed in. As long as the weather isn’t so cold that we can’t start the equipment, you’ll find our men out and about plowing everyone’s driveways up and down our road and a few …

EARLY MORNING VIEW

I love that the days are getting longer!   There was a beautiful view of the moon early this morning which reminded me of this song by Steven Curtis Chapman.   …”Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee…   Holy. Holy, holy…”
