LET GO, MOM!

You’ll have to watch this video to see what Nathan was doing last night which had everyone hollering at me, “LET GO, MOM. MOM, LET GO!!”
If you listen closely, you’ll hear Tim calling to Tater from the top of the shop roof! Nice. Careful. keep pedaling! Nice.
GOOD JOB, TATER! We’re proud of you. You’ve grown up so much this past year and especially this summer. We can’t believe you’ll be starting first grade this fall….
The phrase above, “Mom, let go…” has me pondering many things this morning. So I don’t end up writing a book here, I’ll just share one of those thoughts (LOL). To prepare kids for success down the road, I know we must allow them to experience falls and failures while in the safety of our home and under our watchful eyes. It was hard, but I did eventually let go of Nathan yesterday as he took off on his bike. However, I couldn’t keep myself from chasing after him for quite awhile which leads me to one of the things I’m pondering this morning which you can read in the blog entry below.

Congrats to Nathan! I remember when my "N" learned to ride. He pretty much taught himself though. LOL A great milestone to be sure.
Go, Nathan!
Letting go is so hard, isn't it nice that we can run behind for a while at least? In so many different ways we run behind…thanks for that thought!

Woo-hoo, Nathan (& Mom)!
Verrry nice new blog look, too. Those browns and yellows and blues are beautifully vibrant! And I enjoy the personality displayed in each family member in the header. Great choices, Cynthia!
Hi Cynthia,
As you know, I am learning all too well about that phrase, "Let go, Mom!" You share so beautifully the thought that we can run behind them for a little while!
I love your new blog look! Heather is right…the new colors are beautifully vibrant!
And I really love the song clip you posted by Charlie Hall. I've never heard of this band, but I love the song so much (what wonderful meaning) I'm going to add it to my playlist!
Thanks for sharing!
Congratulations Nathan!
I've been having "letting go" growing pains for the past year. It's good and wonderful that children grow up, just hard too!
