sim·pli·fyTo make simple or simpler, as:
a. To reduce in complexity or extent.
b. To reduce to fundamental parts.
c. To make easier to understand.
Many of my internet friends have been posting their “word” for the year. I’ve never had a word for the year before and I’m not really sure “simplify” is a God-inspired word for me for 2010. But, I can say in good conscious that I’ve been striving to simplify for a LONG time. I’m sure many of my friends would say that to simplify is nearly the antonym of me. Honestly, I don’t try to make things difficult or complicated. It just happens. I try to make things easy. Really. I do. I try to get to the bottom line as quickly as I can, but Tim still has to ask me to keep things simple. And, again. I try. Really. I do.
In fact, I’ve postponed posting this blog entry for four days now because I had great plans and high hopes of looking up definitions, quotes, photos, scripture, yada, yada, yada. You get the picture. Finally, tonight it dawned on me that doing those things would not be furthering my effort toward simplicity. I’m sorry to disappoint if you’ve come to expect more thoroughly thought out and researched blog entries from me. I’m sure you’ll understand and I hope you’ll support me in my effort(s) to simplify. Feel free to ask me how I’m doing in this area from time to time and please bring things to my attention if/when you see me not adhering to my word, simplify, this year.
Perhaps if I’m able to embrace simplicity this year, I might:
*finish a few scrapbooking projects
*update the blog more often
*declutter a few more closets and cupboards
*downsize my bookcases by half
I’m not going to call the above resolutions or goals because those would require action plans, charts, and graphs to measure progress (LOL).
And so with that, I submit to you the following quote to ponder which has been on a sticky note above my desk for YEARS!
Our life is frittered away by detail….simplify, simplify, simplify. ~Henry David Thoreau

Psalms 116:6 KJV
The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low , and he helped me.
Here is the verse I mentioned.
I say "Go for Simple" and keep us posted on how you accomplish this!

I love the quote at the end. I applaud your efforts. I'm all for more blog posts….Mike and I were talking about this a few weeks ago – our moved FORCED us to simplify and we find we enjoy it. LOL Though there are a few things I miss. LOL Not many.
Finally having a moment to read. The boys and kids are getting in play station they promised Zander so I'm going to read a few blogs and not think about tomorrow's farwell.
