I’m posting family pictures for my Project 365 posts this week since we aren’t all six together very often anymore. Here we are in front of the
Minskoff Theater, which was only a couple of blocks from our hotel. This is where you’ll find The Lion King which I’ll post about in another entry.
This 1,597 seat theater at 1515 Broadway opened its doors in 1973. Before The Lion King came here in 2006, the theater underwent six months of remodeling by over two hundred craftsmen. This Minskoff theater is a wonderful theater with many handcrafted adornaments setting the tone and mood for the show from the moment you enter as you can see by the yellow lighted entryway above.
From what I’ve read, there really isn’t a bad seat in this theater. Our tickets were in the right side of the lower loge section which were perfect! We were close enough to see the drummer which was a great bonus! More about the show in another post. Since no photography is allowed in the theater, I have nothing more to post other than us outside the theater, but if you click on the theater link above, you’ll find a few photos from the show on the theater website.
