WHERE’S THE SNOW?

These pictures go with the following FB post:  “So, the boys have a sled, a skateboard, and our *big* ladder on the big dirt pile. OH, and Nathan’s wearing a helmet. This can’t be good.  So far. So good. Now they’ve brought out one of those toy pickup thingies. I went out to get a picture and Nathan said, If I die. I LOVE YOU, Mom!” (LOL).”

I was watching this unfold from the bay window in our library.  I decided I better go out to take some pictures (I mean supervise)!  I got there just in time to holler, “Don’t let go of your brother.”  However, I was too late.  He was already sailing down the hill (LOL).

At least he didn’t stand up in the wagon until the END of the ride at which time he told me, “Don’t worry mom.  If I die, I LOVE YOU.”

Next Nathan showed me how they tied a rope onto the skateboard which is no longer a skate board since they took the wheels off.  Then, they sort of slide and hop down the hill with it attached to their feet.  I can only guess they’re pretending it’s a snowboard.

They must really be missing winter today because they got out the sled and Josh pulled Nathan around with the 4 wheeler over the gravel, up and down the dirt hills, all around the yard, and through the grass.

Above, Nathan is giving the thumbs up that he made it through this series of ‘bumps” just fine.  I guess we won’t be using this sled for sledding in the snow next winter….

What fun and what a terrific mom for letting this unfold even though we all now you probably had some doubts about he safety of it all. My guys did something similar on our sliding hill with a red wagon.

Oh gosh, Cynthia – you're a much calmer mom than I! This is way too fun (and scary)!

I got there just in time to holler, "Don't let go of your brother." However, I was too late. He was already sailing down the hill (LOL).

This quote cracked me up – sounds an awful lot like Ray Stevens in "The Streak!" LOL

LITTLE BITES OF HAPPINESS

Nathan’s friend, Noah, came over to hang out today and enjoy one last day of Christmas break before school resumes for both of them tomorrow. On the way home from picking him up at “the bridge,” I asked if the boys wanted some oatmeal for breakfast, but no. They wanted …

COON “HUNTIN”

Early this morning our dog went crazy with barking and howling.  After the sun rose, we found out what all the commotion had been about as he pointed us toward a coon he had treed during the night! Mid morning the boys decided they needed to take care of the …

DUCK PREP

I’m not sure what’s going on with these duck feathers on my dining room table, but the placemat has been moved over to make room for them! And the Egg Nog has been pushed aside to make room for marinating the duck meat!!    I’m not much for animals, dead …
