One of the problems with vacationing in a rain forest area is that it rains (LOL) which Nathan has figured out in the picture below.  He’s NOT impressed.

I read that Kona (where we spent the first couple days of which I’ve already blogged about) gets about 10 inches of rain a year.  As we drove around the southern point of the Big Island and headed up the other side toward Hilo, there was a noticeable climate difference.  I’ve read that the Hilo area gets around 110 inches of rain a year.  So, we weren’t taken by surprise when it started to rain.

We’ve only planned a couple of days on this rainy side of the island.  So, in a few more days we’ll be back to warm, sunny beaches!
