This looks like a fun game.
RAILROAD RUSH HOUR

Isaw this game last year and wanted to buy it, but the Game Store that is only around during the holidays was out and I never did see one at any other store. This year I made a point to get there EARLY in Nov to see if they had any! I was excited to find it. You can read more about it here. The kids and I have had a lot of fun playing it already. It’s something you play by yourself which is kind of nice when someone wants to play something while others are busy surfing or organizing (LOL). It’s for ages 8 to adult.
It comes with 4 BURLY box cars, 4 Tricky Tankcars, 2 Blocking Baggage Platforms, 5 Jumbo locomotives, 4 Red Careless Cabooses, and 1 Speedy Red Locomotive (that’s YOU).
There are 40 beginnger-to-expert cards plus 10 Junior Challenges (for ages 6-8). There are instructions on the back of the card if you get stumped, but I found those more difficult to understand than just giving the game a try and figuring out the solution myself.
It comes with a cute little conductor’s bag to carry everything in…. I think it’s small enough that we might take this on vacation with us. Here Nathan is putting the game pieces away for us.

Nathan is SO sad that he isn’t old enough to “play.” Maybe we’ll make an “easy” puzzle for him to solve a little later today.
From the box: It’s a switchman’s nightmare! Your trusty red locomotive’s blocked in the freight yard! Move those blocking cars and baggage platforms out of the way. And… no you can’t just pick it up and move it (LOL)! The pieces can only slide forward and backward… not sideways.
First, you chose a card from the pack of 50 switching yard traffic jam challenges. Then you match your gameboard set-up to the card. Shift the railroad cars, engines, and baggage platforms until you clear a path for the red locomotive to exit.

I think I can… I think I can….. I think I can…. I think I can……

You’re done when you can move your red engine off the board.
This game has been a REAL HIT at our house!
