2005 YEAR IN REVIEW
JULY, AUGUST, SEPTEMBER

Harvest Church 4th of July celebration. Nathan is looking at a balloon that has floated away and in the next picture he’s wearing my cap… trying to find a little shade.

Here Josh is enjoying a round of boxing which was one of the many activities set up carnival style.Amanda is in the 180 Youth Group band and they played one of the music sets at the 4th of July Celebration. She plays keyboard in the band.GG turns 92! She says she doesn’t feel a day over 29. This was the summer for yard work. We planted a new tree at the back of the house: Here Nathan is trying to figure out when to tell daddy that he has the backhoe in the right spot. Then, he decided to help daddy dig the hole with the backhoe. Here Josh is tilling the flowerbed at the front of the house. It’s his first time to use the small rototiller and grandpa is supervising. We also put in some new flower beds, poured cement edging for all the new and existing flower beds, and put in a cement for a patio and sidewalk. Josh rigged up a “blade” to pull behind the tricycle. He used it to help level the area where we poured cement for the new patio.Emily helped measure out and design the area where the patio is going to be. My mom came up to help her hold up the tiki torch lamps to see how far apart they will be after we finish the patio. If that wasn’t enough for us for one summer (LOL) we also painted the house. I’m almost too embarrassed to even post this picture given the sad state of our house at this point. This is what happens when you can’t decide on a paint color for YEARS! Here you can also see the newly planted tree which the pictures above show the boys at work with the backhoe. Now this looks MUCH BETTER! Tim still has to make the window boxes for the windows at the front of the house, but this is a HUGE improvement even if we don’t get the window boxes done right away. Here is part of the new patio with the propane firepit. We’ve sure enjoyed sitting around it in the evenings. It’s great to not have a mess or fire to put out when we’re done. Here Josh is power washing the garage so we can start painting it. We waited to start on the garage until after the house was completely finished.OTHER SUMMER ACTIVITIES:Josh at skateboard camp.
Nathan playing outside in the puddles left by a nice summer rain and playing on his tricycle which he LOVES even though he can’t move the pedals. Maybe next year.

Nathan LOVES to talk to Grandpa on the phone …… even if they are sitting right next to each other. Grandpa’s phone rings like a train whistle which means Nathan likes to dial the # when papa is around just so he can hear the train whistle. WHAT IS IT with boys and power tools? Nathan looks like he’s pretty intent on doing some damage with this one!Nathan LOVES to play in the water. I turned the hose on and made a nice big puddle for him!
You probably noticed that we don’t have many pictures of the girls. Amanda worked all summer and when she wasn’t working she was on a mission trip or youth retreat! Emily was also quite busy this summer. I’ve always heard people say that the more kids you have the fewer pictures you take of the younger ones. Seeing all of these pictures of Nathan makes me realize we do NOT have that problem here (LOL). Here are a few pictures I was able to get of the girls this summer. When Amanda was around she enjoyed reading outside and wherever she is you’re sure to find our dog.
Emily looks like she’s in pretty deep thought about something.Tubing with our friends on Holter Lake near Helena. Both of the girls enjoy tubing now. Emily won’t go alone. She is tubing with my brother, Troy. Amanda doesn’t mind tubing alone now.
Josh thought he would try tubing this year, but he barely got on it and decided it wasn’t for him. He did enjoy swimming out in the lake though.

Our fall play was Robin Hood. Joshua was a Forester and Emily was Guard.

A LIFE THAT MATTERED

A LIFE THAT MATTERED By Pastor Gary Helsby “On behalf of Beth’s family, I wish to thank each of you for being here today.  Today is a very difficult day – there are many “unanswered” questions about why such a beautiful person, who had so much love for life and who …

SEQUENCE

Nathan, Tim, and I played a lively game of Sequence this evening.  I should have won the first round, but SOMEONE had to open up their mouth and let on to someone else my strategy which was to win 2 sequences with one last chip!  That play fell through and …

LITTLE BITES OF HAPPINESS

Nathan’s friend, Noah, came over to hang out today and enjoy one last day of Christmas break before school resumes for both of them tomorrow. On the way home from picking him up at “the bridge,” I asked if the boys wanted some oatmeal for breakfast, but no. They wanted …
