This time I said sauce instead of meatball sauce because we use this over our meatloaf not on meatballs. That is only because we have lots of favorite meatball sauce recipes, but only this one meatloaf sauce recipe.
And, guess what? It is NOT from Taste of Home magazine this time. This is from a family friend who passed away many years ago. She was a distant relative of Tim’s, a good friend of his mom, and her daughter is a friend of mine who was in our wedding MANY years ago! Since I try to keep our blog fairly private, I won’t be able to mention the name but some of you will remember who I’m talking about with that information.
SWEET AND SOUR SAUCE1 can tomato soup
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup brown sugar
1 tsp mustardCombine above ingredients in a bowl. Whisk until smooth. Pour over meatballs or meatloaf.
NOTE: Since we only use this for meatloaf I should mention that I pour it over the meatloaf before baking. If I were going to use it over meatballs, I would pour it over the meatballs until both were heated through.
