One of my friends was telling me about the chocolate fondue she served at her dd’s birthday party. It sounded like SO MUCH fun that we decided to do this at our dd’s graduation party.
Of course, we *had* to give it a try before the party (LOL). We discovered that you do *not* need to use the expensive chocolate chips that are made specifically for the fountains. We used Kirkland brand chocolate chips from Costco and as you can see above, they worked just fine! Since Tim’s mom was in charge of the chocolate fondue table at the graduation party, she came up to give it a try to make sure she knew how long to heat the chips in the microwave, how many batches to have going, etc. Below she and Emily are pleased with how well it worked!
Amanda came home after the choclate was going and she gave it a thumbs up! YUM YUM!
The girls had fun taste testing all sorts of things … marshmellows, cinnamon bears, swedish fish, angel food cake, fruit, vanilla wafers, and MORE!
Here is what the fondue table looked like at the graduation party. I’ll post this picture now instead of down further in this series of blog entries. We had wooden skewers in a glass jar beside the chocolate fountain. People loaded whatever variety of things they wanted onto the skewer and then ran the whole thing under the flowing chocolate! It was a HIT! Old and young alike had a great time standing around the chocolate fountain!
